It’s that time of year again, the season for goodwill, eating and drinking too much, decorating the house, shopping, wrapping presents, writing cards, cooking and of course family politics!
Sometimes Christmas doesn’t feel like a holiday but instead, it can be a stressful time (especially if you’re the person organising everything!).
Why not try these tips to ease the chaos and stress over the next few days.
- Make a list
If it’s good enough for Santa it’s good enough for you! You can only do one thing at once so write a list prioritising tasks and go through them one by one. You can mark them off as you go, giving you focus and a sense of achievement.
- Take a break
This is important to avoid stress building up, even if it’s only a couple of minutes. Try and get outside, maybe go for a walk.
Most people are happy to pitch in, after all, it’s the season for sharing. It will take the pressure off you and it’s a tried and tested method, ask any elf!
- Nothing is perfect!
While we all know this it’s important to remind ourselves that no one is having the perfect Instagram Christmas, even if they try and make it look that way!
- Think about food
While everyone will have a treat at Christmas, eating too much high sugar foods will impact your mood so try to avoid spikes in blood sugar.
Ultimately the most import thing about Christmas is your presence not the presents so enjoy time with your friends and family and make memories.
