Carrying the healing legacy forward.

A family had treated patients with their knowledge and skills in homeopathy for two long generations. Back then, homeopathic medicines were given in powdered form in small paper pouches. Because of this family’s expertise in the field, their medicine pouches soon came to be known as – tiny pouches of magic.

It all started in early 1930, when a young boy hurt his wrist while casually playing with his friends. His father rushed him to the nearest hospital where the only treatment suggested by the doctors was amputation of the entire arm. Startled in disbelief, the father consulted various doctors in other hospitals with hopes to find an alternative that would save his little boy’s arm. But, wherever he went, the diagnosis and treatment option provided was the same. The thought of losing an arm of his only child was unbearable. So he took is upon himself to treat his son with his knowledge of homeopathy. The approach of holistic medication worked. Even though the wrist of the boy got crippled – the arm never had to be amputated.

The boy watched his father successfully treat patients with all forms of ailments, diseases and complexities, including patients from conservative societies who were forbidden to lift their veil or talk about certain issues with utmost respect for their traditions and beliefs. The boy himself grew up to study his undergraduate and dual post-graduate studies in homeopathy from Calcutta, Dublin and London in 1940s. He worked with the physician of HRH Queen Elizabeth II and represented the discipline in various conferences in different countries. During this time he was also offered a position as the principal of the first homeopathic college in his city. He and his wife, also a homeopathic practitioner, continued their clinical practice where they treated conditions like polio, epilepsy and a girl who went into coma due to an accident (- she came out of coma and grew up to become a neurologist). They carried on their research in the subject and his articles were published in medical magazines on topics including ischemic heart disease – prevention and treatment.

As it happens, history repeated itself when the boy’s granddaughters, Muskaan and Sonali, grew up with degrees in engineering but were faced with a serious medical challenge when their own father was admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart attack and had to undergo an emergency cardiac bypass surgery. The risk ratio was predicted to be less than 2%, but, the surgery was met with fatal on-table complications. The post-surgery ICU phase was further filled with turbulence and turmoil caused by miscalculation of drug dosages and medical negligence leading to the rapid deterioration of their father’s health condition. When the hospital healthcare team started running out of solutions, Muskaan and Sonali, determined to save their father’s life, dug up their grandparent’s notes in hopes to find a remedy. This was a turning point in their lives when they decided to pursue the disciplines and began their journey in the fields of homeopathy and nutrition in 2019.

Curing their father of blood infection, infected surgical wounds, drug toxicity, nerve damage, and increasing his heart efficiency, they stabilized their father and started his route to recovery.

Taking their forefathers’ legacy forward with the existing wisdom of their grandparents and great-grandfather and the modern knowledge of – a concoction of homeopathy and nutrition, they have delved into research in their respective fields and treated patients ranging from mild flu, stress and anxiety to life-threatening chronic diseases and complications related to post-surgeries and much more.

Their belief lies in finding the core of the health issues and, preventing susceptibility and letting the body heal itself from within so that their patients can live a physically, mentally and socially healthy life.
